The death toll now stands at 30,800 in the aftermath of a massive earthquake in Pakistan, as nations around the world try to get aid to the northern parts of the devastated country and to Kashmir. "In certain areas, almost entire towns, they have vanished from the scene," Pakistan's military spokesman told CNN. Pakistan says it has been overwhelmed by the disaster, and as many as 5 million people have been left homeless. The rugged terrain, officials said, has made it difficult for aid to get through to some of the devastated areas.
